Literature Survey
A significant knowledge gap identified in the realm of education is the absence of a mobile application tailored for A/L biology students following the local English-medium curriculum in Sri Lanka. While some existing mobile apps for biology education are available, they predominantly cater to foreign curricula, making them less relevant and accessible for Sri Lankan students. The proposed Clever Zone mobile app aims to bridge this educational gap by providing a comprehensive and personalized learning experience for advanced biology students. Notably, Clever Zone incorporates features like handwritten text recognition and image processing-based animal and human body part recognition, which are largely absent in existing educational apps.
Furthermore, existing research articles related to text recognition, animal identification, chatbots, and image recognition primarily focus on broader contexts and lack specificity to the A/L biology curriculum in Sri Lanka. They often address ethical concerns and applications not directly related to the educational needs of Clever Zone. Consequently, Clever Zone seeks to fill this gap by addressing the specific requirements of the A/L biology curriculum, ensuring accessibility and relevance for local students. In summary, Clever Zone endeavors to enhance the educational landscape by offering a tailored, technologically advanced mobile app that caters to the unique needs of Sri Lankan A/L biology students and their curriculum.
